On January 18th we had our regularly scheduled meeting at the Millman Center at 209 Bayshore Road in Villas, NJ. Our attendance is increasing and we were happy to see new folks come in with ideas and enthusiasm. Thank you for attending. If you were not able to join us in January, consider coming to our next meeting in February. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6 pm. Our meeting is held before the Club meeting also scheduled on that evening. The Lower Democratic Regular Committee is looking for active committee people, people to run for office and to increase our presence in Lower Township through active recruiting. Look for our fundraisers, voting registration activity and more in 2023. We had many great ideas come through at our meeting last night. Thanks again for all who attended.
Executive Committee Leader Debi de la Cretaz has a thorough reorganization agenda and with the support and excitement from our first meeting in 2023 – it looks to be a fun year to be a Democrat in Lower Township!
We’d also like to thank the Club (Kit Marlow in particular) for inviting our newly elected leader, Marie Blistan to address our combined groups. In 2023 we are looking to support diverse individuals elected as Democrats in our community. Could that be you? Presentation
During the meeting on January 18th we were honored to have a presentation by Bob Moore of the Coalition for Peace Action talking about “Diplomacy Not War.” He provided an insider view of the war in the Ukraine and it’s ramifications if not halted through diplomacy. The tactical nuclear problems alone are staggering. The war is in a sort of stalemate that will not end well for either party. There are too many miscalculations and mistakes during war and there is no nuclear solution that doesn’t end well. He pointed out that the use of nuclear options could lead to a WWIII situation.
